Funny Stuff

Our 5th wheel awaiting signs of Spring...

And this is what I found sitting on the hitch the other day...scared the hell outta me!! (seriously...my heart skipped a beat)
My husband put Carver's toy shark on the hitch...he said it would deter any thieves...ummm yup...

What can I say?! We've been living!!

I've neglected the blog for the entire summer...I've meant to post...really I have. The kids are doing awesome. We were very busy this summer!! We traded our 26 foot travel trailer in for a 38 foot 5th wheel. We needed more room when we travel, 2 dogs and 2 kids take up alot of space.
The kids are back in the MONTESSORI school for their 2nd year, Maz in the preschool and Carver in kindergarten. They love it...and thank goodness Maz hasn't gotten herself kicked out, LOL.

And we are still a bit crazy...just today we thought it would be fun to hook our 6 month old Labrador and our 18 month Labrador up to our kids wagon and let them pull for awhile...a picture would have been priceless but it did take Mike and I rallying on both sides to keep the pups running. The kids laughed hysterically the whole time.

I'll post some pictures soon...just wanted to let everyone know we were still around....just turning into a lazy blogger....

Tornado warning, hail, lots of rain, camping and a new pup!

To our credit, who would have thought to check for tornado warnings in Northern VT?? We were half way there before we had a clue...only the torrential rains got us before we were able to detach the camper and park it in the State Park. Then the hail came an hour later and we heard there had been a touch down about 15 miles from where we were,... we packed the kids and dog up and drove away for a bit when the hail hit.
The next day we had plans to check out a 7 week old yellow lab pup. Mike and I had been looking for another dog to keep Phin company. After searching the Internet and sending tons of emails we were given a lead to someone in my hometown (which we were going to be near for Memorial Day weekend :-) Well, the checking out of the pup turned into taking him with us, he was the last of the litter and the owner was preparing for a busy weekend...so off we went.
Yes, this means we camped for four days in pouring rain, crazy thunderstorms and sogginess WITH our two young children, our 1 yr old lab pup and a 7 week old puppy all together in a 26 foot travel trailer...squishy.

And I do have to add, everyone really did okay. The puppy "OB" (named after our fav vaca place the Outer Banks of NC) was a true puppy champ. Carver got to go fishing and canoeing AND road his bike without training wheels for the FIRST time!! After placing a dehumidifier in our camper for the last 2 days and doing 4 garbage bags of dirty (beyond belief) laundry...we will just chalk this up to the the 2nd worse camping trip ever attempted...

Hatteras Again...

I just realized I have neglected the Blog in the last few months...things have been busy!! I was in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for 5 days (without the kids and Mike!) I was then home for 4 1/2 days and then "we" (the whole family) took off on our 15 hour road trip down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Here is a few of my favorite shots :-)

2011 Snowstorm #???

So we have had just a bit of snow in New England in the last few weeks...the kids are loving it, they would probably live outside if we let them. Today we opted out of school and work (yes, their school was open...one of the only ones in the state!!) We played outside, went snowshoeing thru the back yard and into the woods. Carver moshed in his own snowshoes!! (seriously, the snow is probably close to 3 feet deep in some spots) He even broke the trail for a little ways. Maz really wanted her own snowshoes but eventually agreed to be pulled in the sled. I will add she did NOT prefer me to pull the sled...considering the amount of times I accidentally dumped her in the deep snow (it's not like I had a rear view mirror or anything...)
